compact.cam — Terms of Service
Effective: 2026-10-17
These terms cover the compact.cam website and service: creating a film, taking photos on it as a guest, and buying a paid plan for a film. The Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy are part of these terms.
compact.cam is made and run by Konstantin Lebedev, an individual entrepreneur registered in Georgia ("we", "us"). These terms are governed by the law of Georgia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live; choosing Georgian law does not take that protection away from you.
1. What compact.cam is
compact.cam is a shared disposable camera for an event, in the browser. A host creates a film and gets a link, a QR code and a printable card. Guests open the link on their phones and take a limited number of photos with the phone's own camera. Nobody can look at the photos until the film develops: at the hour the host set, or earlier if the host presses Develop now. After a one-second preview on the guest's own screen, a photo cannot be seen in the product before that moment, not by the guest who took it and not by the host. When the film develops, the album opens to everyone who has the film's link, and it can be downloaded as one archive.
compact.cam is for photos taken at the event with the camera it opens. It is not a place to store or share other files.
No app and no account are needed. The host's link is the only key to the host panel (section 6).
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 16 to create a film, and old enough to make a binding contract where you live to buy a paid plan. A guest under 16 may take part only with the permission of a parent or guardian; the host is responsible for the children at their event.
3. Plans and prices
Every film is free for up to 5 guests. A paid plan raises the guest limit of one film:
| Plan | Guests on the film | Price, before tax |
|---|---|---|
| Free | up to 5 | $0 |
| 50 | up to 50 | $19 |
| 100 | up to 100 | $39 |
| 150 | up to 150 | $59 |
| 200 | up to 200 | $79 |
A paid plan is a one-time payment for one film. It does not renew and nothing is charged again.
A guest is one browser that takes the camera on that film. If the same person opens the link later in a second browser or another app, that counts as a second guest. The host chooses how many shots each guest gets, from 5 to 30.
How long a film is kept depends on its plan (section 7).
4. Buying a paid plan
Creem is the merchant of record: Creem sells the paid plan to you, takes your payment, adds and pays the tax, and issues your receipt. Your purchase is also governed by Creem's Buyer Terms, which you see at checkout. We provide compact.cam and support it. If these terms and Creem's Buyer Terms disagree, Creem's Buyer Terms apply.
Prices on compact.cam are in US dollars and before tax. Creem calculates the tax for where you are and adds it at checkout, so the total can be higher than the listed price. Before you pay, Creem's checkout page shows the plan, the total price including tax, and its Buyer Terms; nothing is charged until you confirm the payment there. After payment Creem emails you a receipt; keep it, because we need the order details from it to find your purchase. Your card statement shows Creem, not compact.cam.
These terms are available on compact.cam; you can download or print them. The contract is in English.
5. Refunds
See the Refund Policy. In short: a full refund at any time before the film develops, if no guest has taken a photo on it yet; a refund when compact.cam failed at your event because of a fault on our side; and, if you are a consumer in the EU (or where your law gives the same right), the 14-day right of withdrawal through Creem.
6. The host link and the guest link
When you create a film, you get a host link. It opens the host panel: the QR code, the printable card, the Develop now button, the album with delete buttons, and the button that deletes the whole film. There is no password, email or account behind it. Anyone who has the host link can do everything the host can, so keep it private. If you lose it, we cannot give you the host panel back.
The guest link (the one in the QR code) lets people take the camera before the film develops and opens the album after it develops. The album is not listed anywhere and search engines are told not to index it, but it has no password: anyone who has the link can open it and download it. Share it only with the people you want to see the photos.
7. How long photos are kept
| Plan | Kept until |
|---|---|
| Free | 90 days after the film develops |
| Paid | 12 months (365 days) after the film develops |
The date is shown on the host panel and in the album as "Available until". We do not send a reminder before deletion. Deletion runs once a day, so a film is deleted within about a day after that date. Deleted photos cannot be restored.
Download the archive before the date. We do not keep a backup of the photos; once a photo is deleted, by you or by the date, it is gone (the Privacy Policy explains the technical records that stay for a short time).
8. Your photos and your content
The photos belong to the people who took them, or to whoever the law says; the film's name belongs to the host. We do not claim ownership of them.
So that compact.cam can work, you allow us to store your photos, resize them, apply the look the host chose, show them to the people who have the film's link after it develops, and put them into the archive. We use them only to run compact.cam, and only until they are deleted. We do not use photos for advertising or to train any model, and we do not run face recognition on them.
If a guest adds a name, it is shown under each of their photos in the album and in the file names inside the archive.
9. Rules for hosts and guests
The host chooses who gets the links and is responsible for the event. The host should tell guests, and people present at the event, that photos taken with compact.cam will be seen by everyone who has the album link. If the event is held for a business or an organisation, or at a place with its own rules about photography, the host is responsible for following them.
When you use compact.cam, do not:
- take or send sexual content involving anyone under 18; we report it to the authorities;
- take or send intimate or nude images of anyone without their consent;
- take photos of people where they can expect privacy, such as restrooms or changing rooms;
- send anything illegal, anything that harasses or threatens a person, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
- use the camera to store or pass around files that are not photos taken at the event;
- open films you were not given a link to, try to guess links, get around the guest or shot limits, or interfere with the service.
If you see a photo or a film that breaks these rules or shows you without your agreement, write to support@compact.cam with the album link and which photo it is. When we learn of illegal content, we remove it or block access to it promptly. We may remove photos, or delete a whole film, that break these rules.
10. Deleting photos
- The host can delete any photo, or the whole film, from the host album after the film develops.
- A guest can delete their own photos from the album, in the same browser they took them with.
- Anyone can ask us to delete a photo that shows them, or a photo they took, by writing to support@compact.cam with the album link and which photo it is. Before the film develops, the host can ask us to delete the whole film by sending us the host link.
How we handle these requests is in the Privacy Policy.
11. The service
compact.cam needs an internet connection on the guest's phone. A guest needs a connection to take the camera the first time. After that, if the signal drops, a photo waits in the browser tab and is sent when the connection is back, without using a second shot. A photo that has not been sent yet exists only in that tab: if the tab is closed or reloaded before the photo is sent, or the film develops first, that photo is lost.
We run compact.cam with care, but we do not promise that it will be available at every moment, or that it suits a particular purpose of yours. We may change how compact.cam looks and works. A paid plan you have bought keeps its guest limit and its 12 months, unless it is refunded or the film is removed under section 9.
If we ever close compact.cam, we will announce it on compact.cam at least 60 days before, so every host can download the archive. For a paid film that would have been kept past the closing date, you can ask us to refund the part of its 12 months after that date, pro rata by days.
12. Ownership of compact.cam
compact.cam, its name, its design and its software belong to Konstantin Lebedev. Using compact.cam or buying a plan does not transfer any of them to you.
13. Warranty and liability
If compact.cam does not work as described, write to us. If you are a consumer, you also have the rights the law of your country gives you when a digital service does not conform to the contract, and nothing in these terms limits them.
If we cause you a loss through slight negligence, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the film concerned or USD 100, whichever is higher. This limit does not apply to death or personal injury; to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence; to your right to a refund, repair or damages when we do not provide what you paid for; or to any liability that the law where you live does not allow to be limited.
We are not responsible for photos lost because a host link was lost or shared, because a film reached its deletion date, because a host or guest deleted them, or because a photo was never sent from the guest's phone, except where the loss was caused by our intent or gross negligence, or where the law does not allow this to be excluded.
14. Disputes
If something goes wrong, write to support@compact.cam first; most problems are solved there. If that does not work, you can go to the courts that have jurisdiction under the law, including, where the law gives a consumer that right, the courts of the country where you live. There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver.
15. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we change the date at the top of this page. A change never takes away what a paid plan you have already bought includes.
